Mind-Blowing Bastille Experience
Hats off to Ms. Amy Grant; she was a surprise and a pleasure to watch open for my favorite band, with her good energy keeping the crowd excited for Ella Eyre. It was worth the wait, although it was kind of a long time to wait 50 minutes between her set and Ella Eyre's.
Watching the band, I felt like I was having a religious experience. Dan, the lead singer, has fun on stage; he told our crowd his dancing was lame, I quote, "I know I'm the worst dancer ever," but it was actually refreshing to see someone enjoying the stage and the energy that much! But let me tell you: it was worth the wait.
My advice to you is this: Stand before the center of the stage 6-10 people deep to get the full impact and energy (and good sound, too). Dan also came down into the crowd during their performance of "Flaws", and I was lucky enough to be right there beside him for the chorus--he really tries to give his attention and acknowledgement to the fans, which I appreciate so much.
Don't grab at Amy Grant or push anyone when she comes down into the crowd--respect is powerful, people. When they leave the stage, scream "Amy Grant!" at the top of your lungs until they come back out and encore with 2-3 more songs. Go see Ella Eyre in concert.
